Aware Network
Aware Network is the organization I am building to steward the protocol layer behind Aware: the contracts, governance, and reference implementations needed for a decentralized network of shared digital reality.
Primary proof surface
Product 0 · Shared Interface for Humans and AI
Aware Network defines the governance layer. aware.run is the first public proof surface where the thesis becomes visible.
Governance and rationale are in this page. Implementation details, demos, and roadmap are on aware.run.
Aware Network exists so users can own their world models while services compete around explicit contracts.
Why it exists
Most software still traps the world model inside services. Interfaces expose partial views, APIs expose partial operations, and users rarely own the operational reality itself. The result is fragmentation: truth becomes service-owned, portability disappears, and collaboration between humans, AI, and institutions remains brittle.
Aware starts from the opposite direction. The goal is to let people and organizations store and evolve their world models canonically, while companies compete to provide the best services around them without owning the underlying truth.
The protocol stance
The core invariant is simple: Ontology is the source of truth, API is the explicit contract, and Services are the value layer.
In this model, users retain a direct route to their world models. APIs define how those world models can be acted on programmatically. Services implement those contracts and compete on usefulness, quality, speed, and trust — not by owning the user’s reality.
Aware Network exists to protect this protocol position.
What Aware Network governs
Aware Network does not aim to own every interface, every service, or every deployment. Its role is to steward protocol evolution, maintain reference implementations, and preserve interoperability as the ecosystem grows.
In practice, this means defining and protecting the canonical rails that let identities, environments, services, and interfaces coordinate over shared state without collapsing into platform captivity.
How it ships
The rollout is practical rather than ideological. Product 0 is a shared interface for humans and AI. This minimal surface is followed by Workspace, then Hub, and finally Network as the decentralized contracts model stabilizes.
`aware.run` carries the execution-oriented explanation and the current implementation details.
What it is not
Aware Network is not a super-platform that owns user state. It is not a single vendor pretending to be a protocol. And it is not an attempt to centralize interfaces, models, or execution under one actor.
Its purpose is the opposite: to make shared world models durable, portable, and governable across a market of implementations.
Relationship to Aware
Aware is the product and protocol family. Aware Network is the organization behind it: the steward of contracts, governance, and the long-term decentralization path.
